Scheduled tasks

Prompts your Mac runs on its own, on a schedule, and tells you about.

Give your Mac a prompt, a model and a time, and it runs the prompt on its own and sends you the reply. Open Scheduled in the sidebar and choose New Schedule.

What a schedule can do

  • Start a new chat each time. “Every weekday at 8:00, give me today’s weather and my first three calendar events.” Each run is a new chat named after the schedule.
  • Check in on a chat you already have. “Every 15 minutes: is the build green yet?” Each run adds a message to the same chat, so it remembers what it found last time.
  • Start an agent session. “Every Monday, update the project’s dependencies and open a pull request.”

Only when it matters

Turn on Only notify when it matters for checks that usually find nothing. Every run still goes in its chat, but you’re only notified when the model says it found what you asked about, or when the run fails.

Timing

Times follow your time zone, so 9:00 stays 9:00 when the clocks change. Your Mac has to be awake:

  • A run it slept through goes when it wakes, if that’s within the hour. Otherwise it’s skipped.
  • It never runs several missed ones at once.
  • Listen mode keeps a plugged-in MacBook awake for them.

Scheduled runs can use the web, but they can’t change your memory or use the data on your phone, such as your calendar.
