Projects
Chats that share instructions, notes and files.
A project keeps related chats and their files together. Every chat in a project knows the project’s instructions and notes, and can see what the other chats made.
Make a project
Open Projects in the sidebar and choose New Project. Give it:
- a name and an emoji,
- instructions: what every chat in the project should know or do, such as “We’re planning the kitchen renovation. Budget is 15,000. Keep answers short.”,
- optionally a GitHub repository, for agent sessions started from the project,
- optionally a model its chats and sessions start on.
To bring a chat you already have into a project, open the chat’s menu and choose Move to Project…. It moves with everything it has made and been sent.
The project page
- Start a chat in… at the top starts a new chat in the project.
- Instructions are what every chat is told.
- Notes are kept by the model as it works: a decision, a date, what’s left to do. You can add, edit and delete them too. Every chat in the project sees them.
- Files is the project’s shelf. Use Add Files for documents, notes or photos. Whatever a chat makes, such as an artifact or an image, lands here by itself, newest first, with the chat it came from.
- Chats, sessions and schedules in the project are listed below.
Agent sessions and schedules
New Agent Session… and New Schedule… on the project page make them part of the project. A session gets the project’s instructions and notes, and can read its files. See Agent sessions and Scheduled tasks.
Deleting a project
Deleting a project deletes its files and notes. Its chats aren’t deleted: they go back to your chat list.
