Profiles
Share one Mac with your household, each with your own chats.
One host Mac can serve everyone at home. Each person gets a profile with their own chats, agent sessions, memory, soul, schedules, model choices, GitHub account and browser. The model servers and image tools are shared by everyone.
Joining
After a device pairs with a Mac that has profiles, it asks Who’s using Pallm? Pick a profile, or choose New Profile… and give it a name and, if you like, a password.
Passwords
A password is optional:
- Without one, anyone who pairs a device with the Mac can join your profile and see its chats.
- With one, a device is asked for it once, when it joins. The Mac app asks when you switch to the profile.
Set, change or remove it in Settings › Profile. Removing it needs the current password.
Switching
- On the host Mac, choose Switch or Add Profile… from the menu bar icon, or Settings › Profile › Switch Profile…. The Mac app shows one profile at a time.
- On a phone or iPad, Switch Profile… has the device leave its profile, then pick another. Its chats stay on the Mac.
Deleting a profile
Settings › Profile › Delete Profile… removes that profile’s chats, sessions, memory, schedules, model choices and GitHub account for good. It can’t be undone.
Profiles keep people’s chats apart. They don’t protect the Mac from someone who can already log into it: anyone who can log in to your user account on the Mac can read every profile’s data.
